  1. General Admission Requirements
  2. A senior secondary school certificate (SSCE), (WAEC or NECO) or GCE O’ level with passes in five subjects including English language, three of which must be at credit level at one sitting or five credits at two sittings. Two of the credits must be relevant to the course the candidate wishes to offer credit/merits in English language and/or mathematics may be required in some courses.
  3. A Grade II Teacher Certificate (TC II) with credits or merit in three subjects, two of which must be relevant to the course the candidate wishes to offer. Credit/merit in English language and/or Mathematics may be required in some courses.
  4. For candidates wishing to offer courses in vocational and technical education, RSA or city and guilds intermediate certificate with credit/merit in at least four subjects are acceptable qualification.
  5. All candidates wishing to be considered for admission must enroll for and write the selection examination organized by an accredited body such as JAMB.
  6. Successful candidates in the PRE-NCE final examinations or Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) who also took and passed in selection examinations by an accredited body are qualified for admission.
  7. It should be noted that some colleges may in addition to all above, administer their own elimination tests and/or interviews for some courses. This is legitimate.
  8. Additional Admission Requirements
  9. Minimum cumulative credits in fine Arts related subject from technical colleges.
  10. One of the credits referred to 1 (a-d) must be in fine arts.
  11. The successful completion of PRE-NCE programme referred in 1(d) must be in fine and applied arts.
  12. PRE-NCE PROGRAMME

The following candidate may be admitted into the PRE-NCE in Fine and Applied Arts programme.

  1. Candidates who hold the SSCE or GCE certificate with less than three credits. Such candidate must at least have a pass in English Language.
  2. Candidates with less than three credits or merits in TC II and have less than five years teaching experience.
  3. NCE PROGRAMME
  4. Candidate who satisfy any of the qualification listed in 3.1 (a-d) above may be considered for admission into the NCE Fine and Applied Arts programme.
  5. In addition to 3.3(a) above all students wishing to be considered for admission must enroll for and write the selection examination organized by an accredited body such as JAMB (PCE)
  6. Successful candidates in the PRE-NCE final examination who also take and succeed in a slection examination organized by an accredited body are qualified for admission.

With prejudice to (b-c) above, candidates who successfully complete the PRE-NCE Fine and Applied Arts programme may be considered for admission.

  1. Candidates, who satisfy the condition in 3.3(a) above must in addition, have one of such credits in Fine and Applied Arts or its equivalent.

  1. From year one to the end of second semester of year two, all students must offer the same subjects, all courses are compulsory.
  2. A student should offer either FAA 325 of FAA 326 and FAA 324 or FAA 327 or FAA 328 as elective (i.e. one fine(A)and one applied (B)in the second semester of year three)
  • If a student meets a required number of credits(76) at the professional level and fails any of the elective such a student should be allowed to graduate.
